Online Retailing Is Booming
Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC) organised a seminar on "Online Business in India-Challenges & Opportunities" at Aryans campus, near Chandigarh recently. Apurva Pandit, editor-in-chief, pagalguy.com was the chief guest on the occasion. Anshu Kataria, chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC) presided over the function.
While addressing the students, Pandit said that in the last few decades electronics and information technology had really changed the lives and way of thinking of people. After electronics and telecom revolution, now, internet is growing in a very fast rate in India with telecom giants like BSNL, Tata, Reliance and Airtel are coming up with new broad band packages with attractive tariff rates.
PRAYAS AT CT
CT Institute of Information and Technology organised "Prayas" to incorporate the technical facet to, the existing academic curriculum.
The members of Electro Maniacs Club (EMC) of Electronics arid Communication Department from CTIT organised the event.
Industrial expert, Ravitej Singh from Exicom Telesystems presented a lecture on Embedded System and Design and enlightened the students with his practical experience and knowledge. He made the students aware of the technical know-how of embedded systems and the emerging trends of the particular field in the current industrial scenario.
The club also organised a technical paper presentation competition "PRASTUTI" in which students from different departments participated and presented their papers on various innovative and advanced technologies like Nanorobotics, Image Processing and Biometric for recognition.
SEMINAR ON SELF-EMPLOYMENT
Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Ludhiana conducted a seminar at Lovely Professional University (LPU) on "Industrial motivation campaign for self-employment opportunities" recently. Assistant Directors, MSME, Ashok Kumar and BK Chaudhary were the key-note speakers of he seminar.
INTER-VARSITY MEET CONCLUDES
Students from seven universities showcased their talent during the annual inter-university sports meet organised at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh recently. Participating teams who plunged into the sports arena were from Baddi University, Arni University, Horticulture University (Nauni), Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Thapar University, Chitkara University (Punjab) and Chitkara University (Himachal Pradesh). Dr Madhu Chitkara, pro-chancellor, Chitkara University, distributed the cash prizes and medals among the winners and the runners up of the meet.
'UNITY IN DIVERSITY' HOSTED AT LPU
The art and culture of 28 states across India were fully displayed during the "Unity in Diversity" programme organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs of Lovely Professional University (LPU) recently.
Chairman of the Lovely Group, Romesh Mittal; vice-chairman, Naresh Mittal; chancellor of the university, Ashok Mittal; pro-chancellor, Rashmi Mittal; director general, HR Singla; senior deans, deans, associate deans, students and other staff members of the university were also present during the programme among others.
